In this session, we spoke about Characterisation and how the characters would walk. For example, for me, as Elle Woods, she would walk with quite a lot of sass and a bounce in her step, completely oblivious to what anyone else would be doing and being overall happy. We also spoke about the backstory's of our characters and how that would make them act the way they do and why they treat others so we can really embody the characters. We all, as our characters in the show, had to walk as if we were on stage to centre stage how we think they would walk.I decided to walk with a bounce in my step and a hand on the hip with my chest quite high to show her confidence and obliviousness to any other character present around her.  Even though it was only infront of a few people i was still quite nervous but i tried to push through that and go first working towards my SMART target of improving my confidence so i can put my all into the character and not care about anybody elses opinion whilst i was on stage.

We also looked at the different parts of the American accent and how they pronounce certain vowels and words so we can sound exactly like the characters that we are playing

This is the video we watched and as a group we paused the video after every vowel and practised it in a group. I found this very helpful because it helped me understand how i would be saying most of the words in the script and gave me the basics to be able to sound out the words i wasn't too sure of.

Unit 2 First Legally Blonde Rehearsal

 6/09- First Legally Blonde rehearsal

In the first rehearsal of Legally blonde, we blocked the opening number "Omigod you guys". 

For a first rehearsal overall it went really well, everybody was really concentrated and we managed to block the scene efficiently making sure each person knew exactly what they were doing and when they freezing.

In this rehearsal, i loved the characterisation of the Delta-nu girls and the next thing to work on is when everybody is singing and what harmonies they are doing. Whilst watching, I realised that my energy when i was coming in would have to be very energised because looking at the rest of the girls they have exaggerated energy and it was clear when i watched the MTV version of the show Elle was held on a higher energy level than the delta nu girls so i would have to come in matching or with more energy. Watching this video, i inferred that Serena, down stage center at the beginning of the video, would have a stronger relationship with Elle because of her strong nature and control of the whole group of delta-nu's.

overall, i think was a good rehearsal because i got to see exactly how much energy i would need to add to my character and who i would have a better relationship character wise.
